Climate change & water supply in Mekong Delta
In the second quarter of 2015 a major project milestone was reached with the inauguration of the 10,000 m3/day ‘Perfector’ water treatment plant (WTP) supplying Soc Trang city. The new treatment plant was built on schedule by the contractor, Holland Water Company (HOWACO), and will be operated by the newly created Soc Trang Water Company (SOWACO), a public-private partnership with 29% participation of the public water supply company of Soc Trang province (SOCTRANGWACO).

4. Partners for Water (PvW)

First Perfector-R in Vietnam starts production
The opening ceremony of the first Perfector-R in Vietnam took place at October 7th in Cao Lanh, Dong Thap province. The ceremony was attended by many officials from central and local authorities. Special guest of honor was the Dutch Vice Minister of Transport, Public Works and Water Management Tineke Huizinga. Among the guests were many representatives from Vietnam water companies.
The Perfector-R installation is operated by DOWACO (Dong Thap Water Company), a daughter company of Dowaso, the local water supply company, and Water Fund Holland, daughter company of PWN (Water supply Company of North Holland) and 4 other Dutch water companies. Project summary Vietnam
In 2004, on initiative of Casper van Ommen and Jacques van Paassen, a drinking water production was constructed and taken into operation at the location Tan-Kim using by Vitens donated used drinking water materials and equipment. In 2006 the drinking water purification system of Abott-Zwolle, the Netherlands, was stripped down and rebuild in Truong Binh (close to Ho Chi Minh City). The local drinking water company HoWaCo (Water Supply Holland) of former colleague Truong Ngo is owner and runs the drinking water supply. The Foundation Water is our World is arisen out of this initiative. Mid-2013 about 20,000 people now have a reliable drinking water supply. Expansion plans are in development.
